Plumber in Houston, TX

Houston is the largest city in Texas and covers a wide range of neighborhoods, from dense inner-loop areas like the Heights and EaDo to sprawling outer neighborhoods along Beltway 8. The city's housing stock spans more than a century, with Victorian-era homes in the Heights, mid-century ranches in Meyerland and Westbury, and modern townhomes rising throughout Midtown and the East End. That range of construction eras means plumbing systems vary from galvanized steel and cast-iron in the oldest blocks to PVC and PEX in new builds, sometimes within the same zip code. Houston's flat terrain and bayou drainage system mean flooding is a recurring event, and homes that have taken on water face accelerated corrosion on water heaters and drain components.

From Heights Bungalows to Midtown Townhomes: Houston Plumbing

Houston's inner-loop neighborhoods like the Heights and EaDo have homes built as early as the 1910s and 1920s. These properties often have original galvanized steel supply lines that have narrowed from mineral buildup and cast-iron drain stacks with corroded interiors. Reduced water pressure and slow drains in these homes are almost always a pipe-age issue, not a fixture problem.

Mid-century Houston neighborhoods like Meyerland and Westbury sit in the Brays Bayou floodplain and have experienced repeated flood events. Homes that have taken on water face accelerated corrosion on tank water heater shells, on exposed drain fittings, and on any metal components in the utility room. We assess flood-related corrosion as part of every water heater service call in these areas.

Houston's newer townhome developments in Midtown, the East End, and the Heights infill market are built on narrow lots with compact utility spaces. Tankless water heaters are a practical fit for these properties because they mount on the wall and free up floor space. The city's water supply still carries mineral hardness, so a filtration system paired with the tankless unit protects the heat exchanger in any Houston neighborhood.

Every service, available in Houston, TX

Drain cleaning is one of the highest-demand services across Houston because the city's older inner-loop neighborhoods have cast-iron and galvanized drain lines that have corroded and narrowed over decades of use. Water heater repair is a consistent need in mid-century neighborhoods like Meyerland and Westbury, where original or early-replacement tank units sit in flood-prone utility rooms. Tankless water heater installations are popular in Houston's newer townhome developments, where utility space is limited and on-demand hot water fits the property type. Water filtration systems address Houston's municipal water supply, which carries chloramines and dissolved minerals that affect pipe longevity and water taste across all neighborhoods.

I made a major error and drilled through my gas line. After I called 911 and had my gas turned off, I called Got Flow Plumbing. Janet answered even though they were eating dinner. Everything was fixed and taken care of early Tuesday. It would have been done sooner but it was a holiday weekend and the gas company took my meter so permits had to be pulled an inspection had to be done. Chris came to do my estimate and gave me a thorough evaluation of the work that needed to be done. Matthew performed the work and was very nice and professional. Janet has phenomenal communication skills and kept me up to date on who was coming and when, and they have payment options. Which, for me, is new information. I haven't needed a plumber in years and I hope I won't need them any time soon but I am extremely grateful to Got Flow for getting me taken care of and back up and running before this freeze hits! Definitely recommend!!!
